Amazon developing Google Adsense Clone

Amazon.com LogoChris Beasley writes that Amazon.com is developing a Contextual Advertising service that is more or less an Adsense clone.

This year, we will also see the launch of MSN AdCenter and YPN may move out of beta phase. This is definitely good time for website owners, bloggers and advertisers as they get a wide array of Contextual Advertising services to choose from.

Amazon.com Ad UnitChris Beasley, an Amazon Associate himself, says Amazon is inviting some Amazon Associates to try out an AdSense-like program. Amazon is also offering a $100 bonus to anyone who signs up as a beta tester.

Rob Hof says that so far, Amazon has run Google contextual ads as well as display ads for other advertisers on its daily, personalized Gold Box specials, but not much else in the ad realm.

Amazon Contextual Advertising will not just display product listings from Amazon.com catalogues but also third party sponsored links that are not sold on Amazon.

More choices, more competition, more money.
