Beatles Music Catalog Going Digital
Original Music by the Beatles, notably absent from the digital revolution, will soon be available for downloading in digital format by fans of the Fab Four.
The Beatles' record label Apple Corps has confirmed that the entire Beatles music catalogue is being digitally remastered and would be available for download on the Internet soon.
Until now, the surviving Beatles have consistently refused to license their songs to any online music services. Even the Beatles catalog appeared on CD well after most of the music world had already made the transition.
Though the Apple's iTunes Music Store has two Beatles songs performed by its co-composer available for downloading, no original recordings by the Beatles, or classic solo tracks are on iTunes, or available for downloading.
