MS-DOS makes a comeback in China
Walk around Beijing’s Bainaohui computer market, and you would find computers with the latest processors from Intel and AMD, running on MS-DOS.
No, the Chinese haven't developed any love for the stone-age OS, they are just trying to circumvent the new law that requires PC vendors to ship new computers pre-loaded with a legal OS license.
Not wanting to face such stiff penalties, many companies install legal copies of MS-DOS, which cost only a fraction of Windows XP. Where are these companies buying MS-DOS from when Microsoft is no longer selling it ? They can as well use FreeDOS or Linux.
