Sony e-Book Reader: Grapes turn sour for Barnes & Noble
Sony yesterday announced that Borders would be selling the much awaited Librié e-1000 eBook Reader starting this summer.
Though Sony Reader has been praised by e-book advocates, Barnes & Noble, US largest bookstore chain and Borders' competitor, aren't excited about the new Sony Reader - "We have sold e-readers before and they haven't done particularly well". [Remember the The Fox and Grapes fable]
Sony Reader was highly publicized at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year.
Besides Borders, Sony will be selling the Reader at 30 Sony Style stores nationwide and on its Web site. The Reader will cost from $299 to $399.
