Google to ditch Intel, switch to AMD
AMD vs Intel: This time, AMD seems to have won the heart of Google
Google, which has more than 200,000 servers, has started to buy AMD Opteron processors with almost all new purchases.
AMD processors are cheaper than Intel's and have recently been winning over many corporate customers.
This news could have a significant impact on the pentetration of AMD processors in the server market especially when Intel CEO sits on Google's board.
